Dr. Vahid Saberi is a Bahá’í currently serving as a Continental Counselor for Australasia.
Background[edit]
Saberi was born into a Bahá’í family being the nephew of Martyr Símín Sábirí.[1]
In his professional career Saberi began working in the healthcare field in New South Wales, Australia, in 1993 and in 2012 he became Chief Executive Officer of the North Coast Primary Health Network. His Doctorate was completed in the field of Business Administration and he has Masters degrees in Business Administration and Public Health.[2] In February 2018 he stood down from his position with North Coast to pursue other professional opportunities,[3] and in September 2019 he was appointed a Non-Executive Director of the Sunland Group, a property development company.[4]
Saberi was first elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of Australia in 2003 and in 2013 he was elected Chair of the body.[5] In 2011 he delivered the opening address at the funeral of Peter Khan.[6] In 2018 Saberi was appointed as a Counselor for Australasia following appointments to the International Teaching Centre leaving vacancies and in 2020 he was appointed for a full five year term.[7]
