Trafford is a Metropolitan Borough adjacent to the City of Manchester, and consists of various small towns to the south-west of the city, including Sale, Altrincham and Stretford. Those to the south of the River Mersey were formerly in the county of Cheshire, and the postal address of some of them still reflects this. Those to the north of the river were formerly in Lancashire. Administratively, Trafford is one of the ten boroughs within Greater Manchester County. It has a Local Spiritual Assembly of its own, but the address below is that of the nearby Manchester Bahá'í Centre. The home ground of Manchester United Football Club is actually in Trafford, and not in Manchester.
