Torah
A Torah scroll in a museum in Cologne, Germany.
GenreScripture

The Torah is a collection of sacred scriptures of Judaism known as the "Law" or "Written Law", or the Pentateuch. It is composed of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. According to tradition, these books were given to Moses by God on Mount Sinai. The Torah is thus also known as the Five Books of Moses.[1]

When used in Jewish worship, the Torah often takes the form of a scroll. As a part of the Bible, Bahá’ís consider it as a Divinely inspired sacred text.
