The Heavens are Cleft Asunder

Huschmand Sabet believes that religion has become petrified in its institutional and dogmatic shell and that true reformation and renewal can come only through a new revelation from God. In his view there are no insurmountable obstacles to a universal religion, which he is convinced must provide the basis of a world social order. ‘Everyone able to recognize and understand the facts should realize that humanity has no chance of survival unless it can unite.’
His book examines in some depth these crucial issues: Does the modern world of scientific progress still need religion? Can the existing religions meet mankind’s desperate need for unity? Does the Bahá’í Faith offer the spiritual and moral guidance which the world requires, and an effective programme for the reorganization of human society on a world scale? Mr Sabet believes that it does, and presents is as the latest of the divinely-revealed religions, its power to change already demonstrated, its teachings and principles exactly suited to our age. And he asks: ‘Why should a new Revelation of God not grip the whole of mankind in its deepest being and lead it to unity?'
