Original letter dated 29 August 1852 was published in German in Oesterreichischer Soldatenfruend, 12 October 1852, vol. 123, p. 514
- More info: He wrote some three letters across a few months. The first describes his journey to Persia (with Dr. Polak and a first lieutenant, and his wife) through Anatolia is in No. 24, 24 February 1851 (pp. 99-101)[screening for a mix up between no 24 and 25, stay tuned.] The second recounts the assassination attempt on the life of the Shah but does not mention the Babis, at [1] was in No. 121, written 20 August 1852 in Tehran and published 7 October 1852 (pp. 505-506) and continued at [2] in No. 122, 9 October 1852 (pp. 509-510). You are referring to the last letter written 29 August 1852, published on 12 October 1852 in the Austrian military journal, "(I can't make out the title - "Hud Berlien."?", Oesterreichischer Soldatenfreund - Zeitschrift für militärische Interessen, 5th year, No. 123, p. 513, by Captain Gr.B.1164 Porträt: Goumoëns, Alfred von, an Austrian working in Tihran. A translation of some of it was posted. It would indeed be worthwhile to incorporate references to these accounts.
