Shrine of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

The Shrine of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá is the location where ‘Abdu’l-Bahá's remains have been laid to rest. It is currently found in one of the rooms of the Shrine of the Báb, but in the near future it will be relocated to a new structure. In its Riḍván message of 2019, the Universal House of Justice announced that the time for the construction of the Shrine of 'Abdu'l-Bahá had come, and provided initial details as to where it will be located:
"The Bahá’í world is being summoned to build the edifice which will forever embosom those sacred remains. It is to be constructed in the vicinity of the Riḍván Garden, on land consecrated by the footsteps of the Blessed Beauty; the Shrine of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá will thus lie on the crescent traced between the Holy Shrines in ‘Akká and Haifa. Work on the architectural plans is advancing, and more information will be shared in the coming months."
Purpose-Built Shrine[edit]
During 2019, a small video was released which gives a virtual tour of the new shrine. [1]
In January, 2020, the Bahá'í World News Service presented photographs of the work in progress. [2]
