Sa‘du’lláh Bábázádih
Sa‘du’lláh Bábázádih (d. May 16, 1982) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Bábázádih was born in Saysan in Azerbaijan Province. His father was a Muslim. His mother passed when he was young with his father remarrying and Bábázádih was raised by a stepmother who was a Bahá’í and he also became a Bahá’í. When he was eleven he moved to Tehran where he later married in 1963. He moved to Khaniabad with his family in 1968 where he was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly.[1]
On October 25, 1981, Bábázádih was arrested and imprisoned in the Central Komiteh alongside fellow Bahá’í Nasru’lláh Amíní. They were released the next day abut ordered to return to the Komiteh the day after that. After returning they were again arrested and transferred to Evin Prison, with their families not being aware of their whereabouts for three weeks. They were executed by hanging on May 16, 1982, with their bodies not being returned to their families for burial.[1]
