Ridá Fírúzí

Ridá Fírúzí (1906 - November 9, 1980) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Fírúzí was born into a Muslim family in Ahar, Azerbaijan province, in 1906. He became a Bahá’í and moved to Tabriz in 1935 but returned to Ahar in 1942 where he was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly and served for an extended period.[1]

On July 18, 1980, Fírúzí's son Parvíz was arrested at a Local Spiritual Assembly meeting in Tabriz and Fírúzí began visiting Tabriz once a fortnight to visit him in prison. On September 20, 1980, Fírúzí was arrested himself in Ahar and transferred to Tabriz prison on September 24. He was executed by firing squad on November 8, 1980.[1]
