Renton is a city in the US State of Washington.
History[edit]
In 1964 two newly declared Bahá’ís who lived in Renton, Robert Hennen and his wife, organized a World Religion Day celebration with the assistance of the Local Spiritual Assembly of Issaquah.[1]
As of 1976 Renton was considered a goal city for the establishment of a Local Spiritual Assembly,[2] and there were nine Bahá’í residents in the city by 1980.[3] The National Teaching Committee of the United States requested homefront pioneers consider settling in Renton in 1984.[4]
In 1993 the William Sears Hearts-Afire teaching project was launched in Renton,[5] and in 1998 Renton was noted as a Bahá’í community providing sustained support for the US National Bahá’í Fund.[6]
