Raquel Francois de Constante is a Bahá’í who helped develop the Bahá’í community of Central America and Panama, serving as a National Spiritual Assembly member.
Background[edit]
Constante was a member of the Panama Bahá’í community as of the 1940's and in November 1949 she was appointed to the National Teaching Committee of Latin America.[1] She was elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of Central America when the body was established in 1951.[2] She served on the body intermittently until it was disbanded in 1961.[3]
An independent National Spiritual Assembly for Panama was established in 1961 and Constante was elected to the body,[4] and by 1971 she was serving as the Chairman of the body.[5] As of 1982 she was serving on the Pioneer Committee of the Americas.[6]
In 2010 she attended the 50th National Convention of Panama at which the Anniversary of the National Spiritual Assemblies establishment was celebrated.[7]
