Qudratu’lláh Rawhání (December 27, 1936 - December 27, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who served on the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran. He was martyred following the 1979 Revolution in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Rawhání was born into a Bahá’í family in Joshagan in 1936 and they moved to Tehran in 1946 where he completed his schooling and then a law degree at Tehran University. He began working for the Ministry of Justice after graduating with his law degree and he worked for them until 1976 when he opened a private practice. In 1972 he was appointed as the legal representative of the Umaná Company.[1]
In 1979 Rawhání was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly of Tehran and in 1980 he was elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran shortly after the incumbent members of the Assembly were abducted at a meeting. He served on the National Assembly until being arrested on December 13, 1981, and he was executed by firing squad on December 27.[1]
