Qayyúmu'l-Asmá'

From Bahaipedia
Jump to:navigation, search

The Qayyúmu'l-Asmá' is the Báb's commentary on the Qur'ánic súrih of Joseph. The Báb began revealing it on the night of His Declaration on May 23, 1844, in the presence of Mullá Husayn. Shoghi Effendi explained that the "fundamental purpose" of this work was "to forecast what the true Joseph (Bahá’u’lláh) would endure at the hands of one who was His arch-enemy and blood brother". Bahá’u’lláh characterized it as "the first, the greatest, and mightiest of all books" in the Bábí Dispensation. [1]
