Patrick Vickers (28 April, 1949 - ) is a Bahá’í author, specialising in materials written in simple English. He became a Bahá’í while living in Solihull, England, in 1969, having first heard of the Faith as a teenager during the London World Congress. After his marriage, he moved to nearby Birmingham, and as a new Bahá’í, he was asked by the Local Spiritual Assembly to be its "sales librarian". This began a lifelong interest in the promotion of Bahá’í literature. At the instigation of his wife Ann Vickers, he began writing a series of leaflets with her, which are now generally known as the Warwick Leaflets. As a schoolteacher, he realised that no book existed in English to actually explain the Bahá’í Faith to children, and he wrote the first edition of The Bahá’í Faith (Vickers) in 1986. It was finally published in 1992 by One World Publications. A completely revised edition appeared in 2012, under the imprint of Warwick Bahá’í Bookshop. He has one daughter and four grandchildren, and he and Ann currently live in Southam, Warwickshire, England.
In addition to service on the Bahá’í Publishing Trust, Patrick has served at various times on regional teaching committees, on the National Teaching Committee and on the International Goals Committee. In 2010, he retired from teaching (in schools), having spent the last few years of his career teaching Religious Education, which is a compulsory subject for state schools in the United Kingdom.
In 2015, he began to publish a current affairs blog, giving a Bahá'í viewpoint on stories of the day. His idea was to make it accessible to non-Bahá'ís, and his hope was that other Bahá'ís would take up the same idea. By May, 2025, the blog had over 157,000 page views.
