History[edit]

The National Spiritual Assembly of the Leeward, Windward, and Virgin Islands was established in 1967 and was later renamed the National Assembly of the Leeward and Virgin Islands when the National Spiritual Assembly of Barbados and the Windward Islands was formed in 1972.[1]

The National Spiritual Assembly of the French Antilles was formed in 1977 assuming responsibility for administrating some communities formerly administrated by the Leeward and Virgin Islands Assembly,[2] and the Assembly was dissolved in 1981 and succeeded by the independent Assemblies of the Leeward Islands and Virgin Islands.[3]
