The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of France is the body responsible for administrating the Bahá’í community of France.
History[edit]
Before his passing Shoghi Effendi announced that the National Spiritual Assembly of France was to be formed in 1958 and it was successfully established at the first French National Convention at Ridvan 1958.[1]
In April 1960 Charles Mason Remey claimed to be the second Guardian of the Bahá’í Faith violating the stipulations placed on the Institution by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in His Will and Testament and statements he had previously signed and five members of the French National Assembly accepted his claim. The Custodians of the Faith sent Hand of the Cause Abu’l-Qásim Faizí to consult with the Assembly and dissolve the body if necessary.[2] The National Spiritual Assembly was dissolved and on May 29, 1960, an election was held to re-establish the body.[3]
