The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the Greater Antilles was a Bahá’í regional administrative body in Central America.
History[edit]
In 1951, the National Spiritual Assembly of Central America was formed with responsibility for the Antilles.[1] In January 1957 it was announced that the National Spiritual Assembly of the Greater Antilles would be formed to administer the Faith in Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica, relieving the National Spiritual Assembly of Central America from responsibility for those countries.[2]
The Assembly was formed as the National Spiritual Assembly of the Greater Antilles at the first National Convention of the Greater Antilles in Kingston, Jamaica, in April 1957. Corinne True represented the Guardian at the Convention.[3]
The Assembly was dissolved in 1961 when individual National Spiritual Assemblies were formed for the constituent countries of Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica were formed.[4]
