Mihdí Amín Amín (July 4, 1916 - December 27, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who served on the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran. He was martyred in the wake of the 1979 Revolution in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Amín studied law at Tehran University in his youth and after graduating he established a private practice. In 1953 the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran appointed him as part of a two member legal team to defend members of the Local Spiritual Assembly of Yazd who had been arrested due to prejudice against the Bahá’í community and they were successful in securing an innocent verdict.[1]
In 1980 the membership of the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran was abducted at a meeting and never seen again a new National Spiritual Assembly was elected with Amín being voted onto the body. He was arrested on December 13 alongside seven other members of the Assembly and he they were executed on December 27, 1981.[1]
