Manúchihr Farzánih-Mu’ayyad

Manúchihr Farzánih-Mu’ayyad (August 28, 1927 - July 9, 1982) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred.
Biography[edit]
Farzánih was born in Tehran in 1927. He completed a degree in banking and finance in Abadan and in 1964 he began working for the Iran-France Credit Bank in Tehran. He was transferred to Qazvin in 1974 and elected to the cities Local Spiritual Assembly, and in 1977 he was appointed as the director of a bank in Shiraz and was also appointed an assistant to the Auxiliary Board.[1]
When the Iranian Revolution took place in 1979 the Revolutionary government ordered that all Bahá’ís be dismissed from government offices, however due to Farzánih's longterm service to the Bank he was granted retirement instead of being dismissed outright. He was arrested while visiting Qazvin on May 1, 1982, and executed on July 9, 1982.[1]
