Dr. Ikuo Mizuno (1895 - 1986) was a Japanese Bahá’í who served as a National Spiritual Assembly member and Auxiliary Board member for Japan.
Biography[edit]
Mizuno was an early Japanese Bahá’í who was a member of the community as of the 1950's. In his professional career he was a surgeon. He was knowledgeable on classical Japanese and after declaring he translated the Kitab-i-Iqan into Japanese over a period of two years.[1]
In 1956 Mizuno was elected to the first Local Spiritual Assembly of Yokohama,[2] and in 1959 he was elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of Northeast Asia.[3] In 1963 he attended the First Bahá’í World Congress in London, England.[4]
In 1976 Mizuno was appointed an Auxiliary Board member for Protection and he served in the role until passing at the age of ninety-one in 1986.[5]
