Ifni

From Bahaipedia
Jump to:navigation, search

The Territory of Ifny was a Spanish province on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, south of Agadir and across from the Canary Islands. In 1958 after the Ifni War, most of the territory became part of Morocco. In 1969, the Spanish government formally ceded the remainder of Ifni to Morocco, by virtue of the Retrocession Treaty.

History[edit]

The Ifny territory was assigned to the NSA of North West Africa in 1964. When the NSA of North West Africa was split again in 1967, Ifni was again assigned to the continuing NSA of North West Africa. The territory was ceded to Morocco in 1969 and ceased to exist as an separate territory.
