Hidayatullah Sohrab

Brigadier General Hidayatullah Sohrab was a Persian Bahá’í who served on the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran.
Background[edit]
In his youth Sohrab attended the Bahá’í owned and operated Tarbíyat School in Tehran.[1] He embarked on a career in the Imperial Iranian Army and as of 1942 he had achieved the rank of Brigadier General. On July 20, 1942, he was awarded the Legion of Merit award by the United States Congress for services during the Cold War.[2]
As of 1955 he had been elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran,[3] and also to the Board of Directors of the Nawnahálán Company, a Bahá’í Trust Fund.[4] In 1957 he represented the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran at the first National Convention of the Arabian Peninsula held in Bahrain.[5] In 1963 he attended the First International Convention in the Holy Land as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of Iran to cast a vote in the establishment of the Universal House of Justice.[6][7]
