Judge Heather Simpson is a New Zealand Bahá’í who served as a Continental Counselor for Australasia. In her professional career she worked as a District Court judge.

Biography[edit]

Simpson attended the Epsom Girls Grammar School from 1963 to 1967 then enrolled at Auckland University where she completed a Bachelor of Arts and then a law degree graduating in 1975. She then began working for a law firm.[1]

In 1987 Simpson was appointed to the Otahuhu Court as a District Court Judge and worked in the position until 2001 which made her the longest serving judge of the Otahuhu Court. She was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2002 for her services.[1]

In 2007 Simpson retired from her legal career but was granted a warrant allowing her to preside over cases if no other Judge is available.[1]
