Gabriel Torres Solórzano is a Bahá’í who served on the National Spiritual Assembly of El Salvador and as an Auxiliary Board member for the Americas.

Biography[edit]

In 1961 Torres was elected to the National Spiritual Assembly of El Salvador when the body was established,[1][2] and in 1964 he was appointed as an Auxiliary Board member by the Hands of the Cause in the Western Hemisphere.[3] In 1969 he visited Costa Rica on a teaching trip.[4]

In 1970 Torres assisted in a teaching campaign in El Salvador which resulted in eighty-five declarations and two localities being opened to the Faith,[5] and in 1972 he attended a meeting for the Counselors and Board members of Central and South America in Guatemala City.[6] In 1982 he was interviewed on a television program alongside two members of the Local Spiritual Assembly of San Salvador which was broadcast three times on El Salvador television.[7] He was still serving as an Auxiliary Board member as of 1990.[8]

In 2010 Torres shared his memories of the history of the Faith in El Salvador at a special session held during the 50th National Convention of El Salvador.[9]
