Elizabeth Bevan
Elizabeth Bevan "Libby" Bevan Golmohammadi (b. c. 1935 - d. March 22, 2013) was a Knight of Bahá'u'lláh, who was a member of the first National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Sweden.
Early years[edit]
Libby learned about the Bahá’í Faith when she was young by Hand of the Cause, Dorothy Baker.[1]
Pioneering[edit]
When she was 28 years old, she responded to the call by Shoghi Effendi’s for pioneers to arise and open territories where there were no Bahá'ís to the Faith.[1] In 1954,[2] Shoghi Effendi named her as Knight of Bahá'u'lláh when she moved from her Los Angeles, California home, to the Island of Rhodes where she remained until 1958.[1]
Administrative roles[edit]
Libby and her future husband, Rouhollah Golmohammadi,[Notes 1] who were members of the first National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Sweden[1] were also electors at the first election of the first Universal House of Justice at Ridván in 1963.[3]
Notes[edit]
- ↑ The correct spelling is Golmohammadi as cited in the UHJ document, not Gholmohammadi as cited by the US NSA document.
