Bahá’í Publishing in America

The United States of America was chosen by 'Abdu'l-Bahá to be the scene of the first expansion of the Bahá’í Faith into the West. It is therefore right that America should have taken such a leading role in publishing Bahá’í books.
The Bahá’í Publishing Trust[edit]
The Bahá’í Publishing Trust, United States is based in Wilmette, Illinois, and is the publishing arm of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States. It publishes basic works of Scripture. Currently, the Báb's Writings are cased in green, those of Bahá'u'lláh in red, those of 'Abdu'l-Bahá in blue, and those of Shoghi Effendi in gold. The Trust has also had marked success in publishing books designed for the general bookshop market.
Kalimát Press[edit]
Kalimát Press is an independent publisher of Bahá’í books based in Los Angeles, California. It was set up by Anthony A. Lee and Payam Afsharian. Many of their titles are academic and historical in character, but they have also published books for children of Bahá’ís.
Special Ideas[edit]
Special Ideas is an independent Bahá’í publisher based in Indiana. It was founded by Justice St Rain, and features books by him and pamphlets prepared under his wing. However, in addition to its role as a publisher, Special Ideas also serves as a distribution agency for smaller operations, and sells a wide variety of books and Bahá’í artefacts.
Naturegraph[edit]
Naturegraph is based in Klamath, California, and has published Bahá’í titles as well as books on the natural world.
Global Perspective[edit]
Global Perspective is based in Missouri, and specialises in titles relating the Bahá’í Faith to Christianity; in books on life after death; and in books encouraging Bahá’ís to more actively spread the Faith.
Palabra[edit]
Palabra is a Bahá’í publisher based in Florida. It specialises in the production of English-language versions of the Ruhi workbooks, in Ruhi-related publications, and in book-form versions of messages from the Bahá’í World Centre.
