Ḍíyá’íyyih Khánum (1874 - 1951) was the eldest daughter of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá and mother of Shoghi Effendi.[1]
In 1896 she married Mírzá Hádí Shírází.[2] On March 1, 1897, they had their first child Shoghi Effendi,[3] and they had two more sons, Husayn and Riaz, and two daughters, Rúhangiz and Mehrangiz. Her other children opposed Shoghi Effendi's Guardianship of the Bahá’í Faith and as such were named Covenant-breakers.[1]
