Yadu’lláh Sipihr-Arfa

Yadu’lláh Sipihr-Arfa‘ (May 26, 1927 - October 23, 1981) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Sipihr-Arfa‘ was born into a Muslim family in Tehran in 1927. His father passed in his childhood and his older sister, who had become a Bahá’í, assisted with raising him although he remained a Muslim. He became a Bahá’í later in life and taught his mother the Faith who declared when she was eighty-five.[1]

On August 30, 1981, three armed men broke into Sipihr-Arfa‘'s home and forced him into a car and he was taken to Evin prison. His family were unaware of his whereabouts until October 5, 1981, when he was permitted to make a phone call to his sister. On November 8, 1981, his family was summoned to Evin prison where they were given his last Will and Testament and informed that he had been executed on October 23. His body was not returned to his family.[1]
