Yadu’lláh Mahbúbíyán

Yadu’lláh Mahbúbíyán (1930 - July 30, 1980) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Mahbúbíyán was born into a Bahá’í family in Hamadán in 1939. He completed high school in Hamadán and then moved to Tehran where he completed a degree in Electrical Engineering at Tehran University. He then established his own company which became successful.[1]

When the Iranian Revolution began Mahbúbíyán sent his family to the United States for their safety and joined them in February 1979 and his properties and his business were seized. In August the same year the Electrical Corporation of the Government of Iran requested he return to the country making guarantees for his safety. Upon returning to Iran he was immediately arrested and imprisoned in Evin prison then executed by firing squad on July 30, 1980.[1]
