Yadu’lláh Karímí
Yadu’lláh Karímí (1915 - December 25, 1966) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.
Biography[edit]
Karímí was born into a Bahá’í family in Saysan, Azerbaijan Province, in 1915. He lived in Saysan for his entire life, marrying and having seven children. He was an active member of the Saysan Bahá’í community despite experiencing persecution and facing pressure to recant his Faith as a result.[1]
On December 25, 1966, Karímí was murdered by being beaten to death. A local physician in Saysan who was prejudiced against the Faith ruled that the cause of death was heart failure however the Saysan Bahá’í community had his body sent to Tabriz for an autopsy where it was ruled that he had received blows from a blunt instrument to his head and body. As a result a warrant was issued for the arrest of his murderers and his body was returned to Saysan where he received a Bahá’í burial.[2]
