Yadu’lláh Ástání

Yadu’lláh Ástání (1931 - July 14, 1980) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred in Iran.

Biography[edit]

Ástání was born in Maragheh in 1931 and after graduating high school he established a business in the city. He later moved to Tabriz where he also established a business and in 1969 he was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly of Tabriz.[1]

On October 20, 1979, Ástání was arrested however his family was not informed for nineteen days. On July 14, 1980, he was executed by firing squad alongside fellow Bahá’í Faramarz Samandari. Their funeral was attended by a large number of people.[1]
