Walter Dlamini was a Swazi Bahá’í who was, alongside his wife Priscilla, the first Bahá’í of Swaziland. He served on the National Spiritual Assembly of South & West Africa.

Biography[edit]

Dlamini was an educator in his professional career and he was serving as the principal of Kwaluseni Senior Primary School as of the early 1950's. He was introduced to the Bahá’í Faith when John and Valera Allen visited his school and he and his wife declared on November 19, 1954.[1]

In 1956 Dlamini was elected to the inaugural National Spiritual Assembly of South and West Africa and in 1957 he visited Durban at the request of John and Valera Allen to assist with teaching work, and also taught in Eshowe, Zululand.[2]

In June 1957 Dlamini stepped down from the National Spiritual Assembly to pursue academic study and since then he and his wife have quietly served the Faith teaching the religion to friends and family.[2]
