Biography[edit]
Tibyáníyán was born into a Bahá’í family in Sangsar in 1923. He left school in 1939 and established a store in Damghan to assist his father in supporting the family financially however the shop was looted and destroyed by people opposed to the Bahá’í Faith after a short time.[1]
In 1941 Tibyáníyán returned to Sangsar where he married and in 1956 he moved to Fazelabad, a suburb of Gurgan, with his family where he established a farm. He remained in Fazelabad until 1968 when he moved to Tehran so his children could attend High School.[1]
On March 13, 1979, Tibyáníyán was arrested and imprisoned in Qasr prison for five months. He was arrested a second time on September 1, 1980, and imprisoned in Evin prison where he was severely tortured. On June 24, 1981, he was executed by being repeatedly shot one bullet at a time, first in the feet then up the rest of his body, with his execution taking seven hours.[1] Three fellow Bahá’ís were executed the same day and they were buried at the Tehran Bahá’í cemetery with a large amount of people attending their funeral.[2]
