Vahid Rafati
Dr. Vahid Rafati (b. 1945) is a Persian Bahá’í who has written several scholarly books about the Bahá’í Faith and serves in the Research Department of the Universal House of Justice.

Rafati was born in Shiraz, Iran, in 1945. He moved to Tehran where he graduated from Tehran University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. In 1972 he moved to Lebanon to continue his studies at the American University of Beirut and in 1974 the civil war in Lebanon forced him to move to the United States where he enrolled in the University of California in Los Angeles.[1]
Rafati completed a PhD in Islamic Studies at the University of California submitting his theses in 1979,[2] and in 1980 he moved to the Holy Land to serve in the Research Department of the Universal House of Justice.[1] By 1985 he was the Director of the Research Department.[3]
