July 25, 1941, to January 2, 1944, CPS worker as Conscientious Objector. Started at CPS Camp No. 9, located in Petersham, Massachusetts. Then CPS Camp No. 53, in the White Mountain National Forest near Gorham, New Hampshire. Lastly at CPS Camp No. 59, near Elkton, Oregon.[47]

We get Towart’s side of the story in the Oregon forest: Towart had been a conscientious objector here Beatrice Rainboth had visited the camp in Elkton, OR where firesides were held and Michael Jamir joined the Faith. Towart pioneered after being rejected by the examining psychiatrist for military service because he had spent 2.5 years in consceincious objector camps. He pioneered to Providence RI by April 1944 in hsi 20s and eventually became chair of the assembly. He had been a Congregationalist minister and ran churches in Ashland, ME.[49] Michael Jamir’s side of the story: that he heard of the Faith from "William Towert" who was a transfer from Massachusetts and was the son of a minister, got address of B. Rainboth (later married Haley).[50]
