The UK Bahá’í Histories Project was instigated at the request of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United Kingdom. While a very few personal histories of Bahá’ís from the first half of the twentieth century have been preserved, the majority have been lost, and the next generation of British believers were also passing on without their stories being recorded. From around 2010, therefore, the project was set up, headed by Thelma Batchelor and Jenny Lockwood, inviting British Bahá’ís to submit the story of how they became Bahá’ís, or relevant information about their early Bahá’í experiences.
The histories are available on the project's official website. Scrolling down the page will reveal an entry point into one story, usually the latest addition. However, scrolling down the right-hand side will reach an alphabetical list of all the stories currently available. As of early 2020, there were 341 personal stories.
