The Apocalypse Unsealed
The Apocalypse Unsealed is a book published in 1981, written by Robert F. Riggs. Over many years, Riggs made a study of references made by Bahá’u’lláh, Abdu'l-Baha and Shoghi Effendi to the meaning of The Apocalypse, also known as the Book of Revelation. In addition, he used a small number of pilgrim's notes and the works of Mírzá Asadu'lláh. As well as direct references to the text of St John's book, he uses references to the terms used by the book, many of which have been explicitly explained by Abdu'l-Bahá or used in context by Bahá'u'lláh Himself.
Following a lengthy introduction, explaining the workings of gematria and the Abjad system, both of which equate letters with numerical values, and discussing the understandings of the peoples of the time when the book was written, the text of the book takes the reader through the text of the Apocalypse chapter by chapter. It gives one or more verses at a time, followed by the author's commentary. Where possible, he supports his suggestions as to meaning by quotes from the Bahá'í Writings.
