Talk:Husnieh Bahá’í

She was my paternal grandmother. Some parts of this article are incorrect. She was born December 25 1909 in Tiberius. Her mother's name was Khanum Jan. It was my grandfather, Muhammad Bahá'í, also a grandchild of Mirza Muhammad Quli, who served the Guardian in construction. He died in 1963, shortly after the first election of the Universal House of Justice. She didn't pioneer to Canada until 1966. She was also fluent in French. She was also a close with Ruhiyyih Khanum.

She and my grandfather had 8 children, two of which died in childhood, Khanum Jan named after her mother who died at 6 months old and Nabil who died at 2 years old. They are both buried in the family cemetery in Ein Gev and were reinterred ceremoniously in a new cemetery there in 1985.

After my grandfather was kidnapped and they were forced off the farm in Ein Gev in 1948 the family was destitute and Shoghi Effendi invited them to live in the House of Abbud, not with Shoghi Effendi. They continued to live there after my grandfather returned and later on Shoghi Effendi told my grandparents to settle in Nazareth. When my grandfather returned from his captivity his sole desire was to serve Shoghi Effendi.

While he was serving the Guardian he frequently stayed at the Masters' house with the rest of the family visiting occasionally.

The following link is the message the Guardian sent when the property around the Haram-i-Aqdas was greatly expanded crediting the grandchildren of Mirza Muhammad Quli. It was my grandfather who suggested the possibility of this to Shoghi Effendi while he was driving him from Haifa to Akka. My grandfather was good friends with Teddy Kollek who was a prominent Israeli in the government and who grew up in Kibbutz Ein Gev. They were childhood friends and neighbors. Teddy Kollek helped greatly in this regard. My grandparents made their living while my grandfather was serving the Guardian through my grandmother's nursing career and my grandfather's sand business and farm in Akka which was also part of the land exchange.

This is a message from the Universal House of Justice regarding the reinterment of the remains of Mirza Muhammad Quli and his family on 1985:

This is an article recently published in Israel about Teddy Kollek and the land exchange:

The following is a little history from her pioneering days in Guadalupe:

If anyone wants any more information on her or my grandfather, my uncle, Munir Bahá'í who is 84 years old would be happy to answer any questions.

I also have a long video interview of her done in 1992 where she recounts her life growing up in the Holy Land, as well as an audio file of her chanting and singing prayers and another audio interview she did with my maternal grandfather in 1972.
