Talk:Ḥuqúqu’lláh

Yesterday (January 17, 2010) I attended a workshop about this Law. Just before the workshop, last week, I had been reading the ASL-I-KULLU'L-KHAYR (Words of Wisdom).

One of these phrases I read was in respect to "The Essence of charity is for the servant to recount the blessings of his Lord, and to render thanks unto Him at all times and under all conditions". I had been a bit confused by this as I thought that charitable giving was to give to others some money, food or other material support that I could give and they might need.

After the workshop I then understood this - that the essence of charity is to be grateful for all the material gifts of God as well as His spiritual blessings and to "recount" them at all times and render 'thanks' unto Him - that would be His 19% - so by sending my thanks to God through Huququ'llah, I am fulfilling my wish to be charitable as well as rendering thanks unto God.

That's just my thoughts on this.
