Tahereh Madjzoub
Tahereh Madjzoub (January 16, 1925 - March 8, 1999) was a Persian Bahá’í who pioneered to Turkey, Germany, and Zimbabwe serving on several Local Spiritual Assemblies and local and national committees and actively organizing Bahá’í events at her pioneer posts.
Biography[edit]
Madjzoub was born Tahereh Hezari into a Bahá’í family in Qazvin in 1925. Her parents were Ardeshir and Firouzeh Hezari.[1] She married Rahmatollah Madjzoub in 1943 and they had three children. They pioneered to Turkey in 1954 to assist with the Ten Year Crusade remaining there until 1964 when they pioneered to Germany.[2]
In 1976 Madzjoub's husband passed away in Mannheim, Germany,[3] and in 1983 she pioneered to Zimbabwe settling in Harare where members of her family already lived. She kept her home open to visitors and was regarded as a mother by the Zimbabwe Bahá’í community.[4]
Madjzoub passed in Harare in 1999 and the Universal House of Justice conveyed the following in a message after her passing:
STAUNCH FAITH, HER LONG-SUFFERING ATTITUDE IN HER ADVERSITIES, AND HER SACRIFICIAL ATTITUDES IN TEACHING FIELD WERE TRULY EXEMPLARY.[4]
