Studies in the Bábí and Bahá’í Religions
Studies in the Bábí and Bahá'í Religions is a series of scholarly publications on wide-ranging topics concerning the Bábí and Bahá'í Faiths. It began as Studies in Bábí and Bahá'í History, but it was eventually decided that other areas of Bahá'í scholarship had received less attention than history and the scope of the series was expanded with the title being changed when Volume 5 was published.[1]
Early volumes in the series are compilations of essays and articles and later volumes, beginning with Volume 7, also include books written by a single author. A letter written on behalf of the Universal House of Justice noted that Volume 9 made assertions which are contradicted by Bahá'í Texts and that it had a misconception of the nature of Bahá'u'lláh's Mission, but also that the right for it to be written and published and the right of Bahá'ís to purchase the work was not in question.[2]
