Storehouse

The storehouse is a local trust fund ordained by 'Abdu'l-Baha. Initially, it will be set up in the villages, and only later will (presumably a more complex version) it be extended to towns and cities. In essence, Trustees are appointed who administer a local fund for the support of the families of the village. In years of surplus, local people pay into the storehouse, but in years of famine, flood or other disaster, monies are paid out. Likewise, the local trustees will be well aware of the real financial position of local people, and will pay out to particular families temporarily in need. It would be easy to argue that this would work so much better, in practice, than the complex laws, rules and regulations which exist in countries with welfare systems, and infinitely better than the present lack of system which applies in other countries.
