Sikhism

Sikhism is a religion founded in India.

Background[edit]

The Sikh religion was founded by Guru Nanak who is not regarded as a Manifestation of God, however the Universal House of Justice has praised his "saintly character" and described him as a "saint of the highest order" and having been "inspired to reconcile the religions of Hinduism and Islam, the followers of which religions had been in violent conflict."[1]

Robert Stockman has noted that while Sikhism is not recognized as a religion founded by Revelation it can be regarded as a religion founded through inspiration drawing on Indian and Middle Eastern Revelations.[2]
