Shir-Muhammad Dastpish

Shír-Muhammad Dastpish (March 25, 1938 - December 1978) was a Persian Bahá’í who was martyred.

Dastpish was born in the village of Kata. He was a member of the Bahá’í community and when severe persecution broke out in December 1978 he began facilitating the evacuation of the Bahá’í population of the village refusing to leave the village until all other Bahá’ís had safely left.[1]

Dastpish was severely beaten and then took his family to the village of Falard before returning to Kata to continue efforts to evacuate the community. After the last Bahá’í had left the village he departed the village by motorcycle for Falard but he was murdered while traveling.[1]
