Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá is a compilation of tablets written by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to the early believers in the east and west. Included in the compilation are 237 tablets. However, during his lifetime ‘Abdu’l-Bahá wrote over 27,000,[1] so this should not be considered an exhaustive compilation, but a selection of tablets key to elucidating the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh.
The topics covered include: Bahá’í life, God and the Manifestations, Administration and the Bahá’í community, laws on marriage, education & health, some Christian subjects, the soul and life after death, the covenant, tests and teaching and the future. Included as the last tablet is the Tablet of Visitation.
The Tablets were translated by a Committee in collaboration with Marzieh Gail at the Bahá’í World Centre, and the compilation was published in 1978.[2]
