Sector
A Sector is a small geographic section of a city with borders designated by a Local Spiritual Assembly for the purposes of allowing Bahá’í activities to be planned and monitored on a manageable scale. They are similar in purpose to clusters.
Background[edit]
In 2001 the Universal House of Justice announced the establishment of clusters as a new way of systematically pursuing the expansion and consolidation of the Bahá’í community by allowing for plans to be made on a small scale with attention paid to local conditions.[1]
In January 2003 the Universal House of Justice noted that large cities with a single Local Spiritual Assembly were usually designated as a single cluster with the Assembly area instead being divided into sectors for the purposes of planning local activity,[2] and a December 2005 message spoke positively about the establishment of sectors and noted that in the future urban communities may need to be divided into even smaller areas.[3]
