Sadratu'l-Muntahá is one of the titles used for Bahá’u’lláh Himself. It is an Arabic phrase meaning "The Tree Beyond Which There Is No Passing". This would indicate that one can not get any nearer to God than meeting His Messenger. The phrase may have origins in desert Arab culture. In any oasis, the last tree on each road out would be so designated. Every child raised in the oasis and every visitor would know that passing beyond the designated tree would lead to getting lost in the trackless wastes of the desert.
