Politically Sabah is under the Federation of Malaysia. However, since 1998, The House of Justice has issued a new order for Sabah, Sarawak (North Borneo and West Borneo respectively) to have their own National Spiritual Assemblies. The first National Spiritual Assembly of Sabah was formed in the year 1998.

The List of LSAs within the jurisdiction of the NSA of Sabah:

  1. LSA Kota Kinabalu
  2. LSA Penampang
  3. LSA Sandakan
  4. LSA Tawau
  5. LSA Keningau
  6. LSA Bintasan Tengah, Langkon, Kota Marudu
  7. LSA Bintasan Darat, Kg. Golonot, Kota Marudu
  8. LSA Kg. Korongkom, Kota Marudu.
  9. LSA Kg. Bangkau-Bangkau, Pitas
  10. LSA Kg. Tambilidon, Pitas

Sabah has numerous and various amount of smaller communities which individually don't have more than 9 adult members to form a LSA.

Currently the Baha'is in Sabah focus their growth more on the northern geographical sphere (Kudat District), where the propagation of the Faith and the implementation of the Four Core Activities are in full swing there.
