Súriy-i-Ḥajj II
Súriy-i-Ḥajj is the title of two Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh revealed in Adrianople which provide instructions for the Bahá’í pilgrimages. The second Súriy-i-Ḥajj pertains to the pilgrimage to the House of Bahá’u’lláh in Baghdad. It has not been officially translated but a portion has been translated by Shoghi Effendi and a provisional translation exists.
Background[edit]
The Tablet was revealed for Nabíl-i-A‘ẓam and sent to him shortly after he had completed the pilgrimage to the House of the Báb in Shiraz with instructions for him to travel to Baghdad and perform the pilgrimage rites in the Tablet. The pilgrimage as described in this Tablet was affirmed as a requirement in the Bahá’í Faith in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas.[1] The pilgrimage is currently impossible as the House has been destroyed however it may be rebuilt in the future when circumstances permit.[2]
