Súriy-i-Ḥajj I
Súriy-i-Ḥajj is the title of two Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh revealed in Adrianople which provide instructions for the Bahá’í pilgrimages. The first Súriy-i-Ḥajj pertains to the pilgrimage to the House of the Báb in Shiraz. It has not been officially translated but a provisional translation exists.
Background[edit]
The Tablet was revealed for Nabíl-i-A‘ẓam and sent to him with instructions for him to visit Shiraz and perform the pilgrimage rites which he did successfully. The pilgrimage as described in this Tablet was affirmed as a requirement in the Bahá’í Faith in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas.[1]
The requirement for pilgrimage to the House of the Báb has not yet been implemented by the Universal House of Justice,[1] and is currently impossible as the House has been destroyed, however the blueprints of the building and several films and photographs of it exist and it has been speculated it may be rebuilt at some point in the future with the pilgrimage becoming possible when circumstances permit.[2]
