Roadmaps to the Future

From Bahaipedia
Jump to:navigation, search

Roadmaps to the Future is a very interesting book by John Kolstoe. It looks briefly at the role of prediction in human life, and the positive and negative views of the future which people develop. The book discusses the value of these attitudes. Chapter One deals (in brief) with philosophers and thinkers. Chapter Two reviews the Sacred Scriptures of the World. Chapter Three analyses Shoghi Effendi's vision of the future, as laid out in a letter of 1936, and reproduced in The World Order of Baha'u'llah. Mr Kolstoe's general conclusion is that Shoghi Effendi had his finger on the pulse of the way which the world would develop.

Although the book is well worth reading, it does contain errors of historical fact, and has been typeset by someone who was not a native English speaker. It is to be hoped that the second edition will have have many of the typographical errors corrected.
